Recycle and Reuse – Creating a Bonsai Garden

Aviary Photo_130657647349937344

To create a bonsai, it takes skills and knowledge, creativity,  sensitivity, and patience.    To create a bonsai garden takes all the attributes of creating a bonsai plus more.   To create a bonsai garden out of refuse, surplus and recycled materials … add being able to withstand pulling your hair to all the attributes.

The photo above is from about 80 percent reused or recycled materials that may have otherwise ended up in a landfill.  The siding and roof of the potting shed is from cedar fence boards that were going to be thrown away.  The pavers and hardscapes are from old pavers that were going to be thrown away and excess pieces of flagstones that did not quite fit another project.  Underneath the shed are pallets as the support.  The gravel was the wrong color for another job and could not be returned.  The bonsai stands are made of excess pressure treated wood and cmu block that were going to be thrown away.  The shed door I bought from a Reuse store.

All put together is a place meditative place for my bonsai.  More photos to come in future.
